"Quality work in a timely fashion
that exceeds expectations."
Aspen Research provides all provides these
specialty services for the young and fast growing nonprofits:
- General strategies for managing rapid growth. My diverse background and work history allow me to tackle “special projects” no single person can do – or wants to do. I welcome any project challenge for small and rapidly growing nonprofits no matter how insurmountable or outlandish it may seem. I’ve weathered many nonprofit storms over the last 20 years and you can trust my experience and wisdom will help you sail to calmer seas.
- Leadership training. To create and sustain success in a rapidly growing environment, your leaders must establish a vision for the future, inspire staff, and drive both incremental and radical change. Focusing on the roles of your leaders in their specific context, I offer insights and tools that will enable your leadership team to become stronger, wiser leaders, able to build a nonprofit that can overcome significant challenges and achieve business goals through disruptive and innovative change.
- Operational structural development. To run an effective nonprofit in a rapidly growing environment, you need an internal set of procedures, structures, policies, and technology that can scale. Most importantly, you need to anticipate and implement appropriate structures before you move too far along the growth cycle. Having experienced the growth patterns of dozens of young nonprofits, I will help you navigate a path to success that will allow you to embrace growth, not be stunted by it.
- Fundraising tactics. Successful fundraising for small and rapidly growing nonprofits is much different than the tactics used for large, established nonprofits. You need to raise funds for current programs, but also raise money to support capacity expansion and long-term sustainability. Considered one of the best fundraisers in the industry, I will provide you with proven tactics that helped me raising millions during the worst recession in 40 years.
- Strategic planning. If you don’t know where you want to go, how can you get there? Just because you can take on project, should you? Executed well, strategic planning and programming planning goes far beyond mission and vision statements. I will help you address tough questions you need to face in a rapidly growing environment and then help you development a plan that will deliver your dreams and aspirations.
- Board and development. If you have a deadbeat board, you can forget about long-term success. Most board members are “lip-service” board members—their passion for the mission is all talk and no action. You need a committed and engaged board to excel and succeed. I will help you weed out deadbeat board members and give you and your board the tools and insights they need to develop a quality board that will deliver the goods.
Fees vary depending on size and scope of project. Aspen Research provides written bid proposals for all projects. Fees range between $75 and $200 an hour for short-term projects. Projects expected to last more than a month are bid at monthly rates. Some reimbursable expenses may apply, but are agreed upon in advance and outlined in the terms of the contract.
For short-term projects, Aspen Research bills on a 25-50-25 basis. This means 25% of the contract fee is billed at the time of signing the contract, the second 50% is billed during the middle of the project, and the final 25% is billed at the end of the project. All payments are Net 15. Long-term projects are billed on a monthly basis.
Aspen Research makes it the client's responsibility to donate 25% of the contract fees to a childhood hunger charity. This means if a client contracts with Aspen Research for a $20,000 project, the client is responsible for donating $5,000 directly to a charity. All tax accounting is handled between the client and the charity.
